This deliberate action by Saudi Arabia is a violation

“The Islamic republic reserves the right to pursue its interests in this matter,” he said.It comes days after Saudi Arabia broke off diplomatic ties with Iran in response to an arson attack on its own embassy in Tehran by protesters infuriated by Riyadh’s execution of a prominent Shia cleric.Shia-dominated Iran also announced a ban on imports of all products from its Sunni-ruled rival, following a dramatic chill in relations that has triggered international alarm.Iran also announced that a ban on Iranians travelling to the Saudi holy city of Mecca for the year-round minor pilgrimage, known as the umrah, would remain in place indefinitely.

Iran on Thursday accused Saudi warplanes of deliberately bombing its embassy in Yemen, in a new escalation of diplomatic tensions that have reverberated across West Asia.Nimr’s death unleashed a wave of anger across the Shia world, including in Iran where protesters stormed and set fire to the Saudi embassy in Tehran and consulate in the second city of Mashhad.Somalia followed suit on Thursday, saying it had given Iranian diplomats 72 hours to leave the Horn of Africa nation. Iran on Thursday accused Saudi warplanes of deliberately bombing its embassy in Yemen, in a new escalation of diplomatic tensions that have reverberated across West Asia.Among other Saudi allies, the United Arab Emirates has downgraded relations with Iran while Kuwait and Qatar have recalled their ambassadors.Longstanding frictions between West Asia’s foremost Sunni and Shia Muslim powers exploded into a full-blown diplomatic crisis at the weekend when Riyadh executed Shia cleric and activist Nimr al-Nimr along with 46 others.

Iran denounced the attacks on the Saudi missions, but the repercussions quickly rippled across the region with Saudi allies Bahrain, Sudan and Djibouti also cutting diplomatic ties with Tehran..Tehran said an unspecified number of embassy staff had been wounded in the raid on the rebel-held Yemeni capital Sanaa, which has been targeted by months of airstrikes by a Saudi-led Arab coalition.“The Saudi government is responsible for the damage China Knitted Fabrics Suppliers caused and for the situation of members of staff who were injured,” Mr Ansari added, without specifying when the alleged strike took place or the seriousness of the injuries.

They also support opposing sides in Syria, where Tehran has provided military assistance to President Assad against rebel groups, some backed by Riyadh.Iran’s embargo on imports from Saudi Arabia will reportedly affect goods worth about 40 million, mainly fabrics and packaging products.“This deliberate action by Saudi Arabia is a violation of all international conventions that protect diplomatic missions,” Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Hossein Jaber Ansari said, quoted by state television. The Yemen conflict, which pits the pro-Iranian Huthi Shia rebels against pro-government forces backed by Riyadh and other Gulf Arab states, is one of the main sources of dispute between Saudi Arabia and Iran. The tensions have heaped doubt on a plan that foresees talks between the Syrian sides in January.“This step has been taken after careful consideration and in response to the Republic of Iran’s continuous interference in Somalia’s internal affairs,” the statement said, without giving further details

Trump issued a presidential proclamation

According to the USTR, the total US imports under GSP in 2017 was USD 21.In April, the US announced eligibility review of India for the GSP.As of November 1, these products “will no longer qualify for duty-free preferences under the GSP programme but may continue to be imported subject to regular Most Favoured Nation duty-rates,” an official of US Trade Representative told PTI.Dyed, plain weave certified hand-loomed fabrics of cotton, containing 85 per cent or more cotton by weight; plain weave certified hand-loomed fabrics of cotton, containing 85 per cent or more cotton by weight, hand-loomed carpet and other textile floor coverings, not of pile construction, woven, made up of man-made textile materials have also been removed. Notably India is the largest beneficiary of the GSP.

The federal register issued a notification, listing out 90 products which were so far subject to duty-free provisions under GSP.Base metal clad with gold mixed link necklaces and neck chains and keyboard musical instruments, like harmoniums and similar keyboard instruments with free metal reeds are among the other products. In his presidential proclamation, Trump said that certain “waivers will no longer be granted for any product, regardless of the country source, that exceeds the GSP” Competitive Need Limitation (CNL) thresholds.A review of the products indicates that the presidential proclamation is not country specific, but product specific. Some of the prominent Indian products removed from the duty-free provisions of the GSP include dried pigeon pea seed; areca nuts, fresh or dried, in shell; turpentine gum; mangoes, prepared or preserved by vinegar or acetic acid; sandstone, merely cut into blocks or slabs of a rectangular (including square) shape; tin chlorides; barium chlorides; salts and esters of tartaric acid, nesoi; and trimethyl phosphite.2 billion) and Brazil (USD 2.The volume of India’s export to the US impacted by the latest move of the Trump administration is not known yet, but the list of products from which duty-free import provision has been removed reflects that a large number of small and medium size business could be impacted, in particular handloom and agricultural sector. In 2017, India’s duty-free export to the US under the GSP was to the tune of more than USD 5.With India being the largest beneficiary of the GSP, it has been hit the most by the latest decision of the Trump administration. It would cause significant distress to the export-oriented sector leading to increased غير مجاز مي باشدt for US industries that use products under the GSP, it said.A count of these products indicated that at least 50 of them are from India.2 billion, of which India was the biggest beneficiary with USD 5..Full grain unsplit or grain split buffalo hide or skin; grain split whole buffalo leather, without hair on; whole buffalo skin leather (not full grain unsplits/grain splits); and full grain unsplit buffalo leather (not whole), have also been removed from the duty free the GSP list.

In June, India urged the Trump administration not to withdraw it from the GSP.“I hereby terminate the duty-free treatment for such articles from such beneficiary developing countries,” he said.FICCI in a submission to the USTR had said that the termination of the GSP would be contrary to the legislative objective and the history of the Trade Reform Act of 1974 of furthering the economic development of developing countries. The Knitted Fabrics Suppliers programme has now been renewed through December 31, 2020.Products from other countries like Argentina, Brazil, Thailand, Suriname, Pakistan, Turkey, the Philippines, Ecuador and Indonesia have also been removed from the GSP list. The GSP, the largest and oldest US trade preference programme, is designed to promote economic development by allowing duty-free entry for thousands of products from designated beneficiary countries.5 billion).6 billion. The CNL thresholds are quantitative ceilings on GSP benefits for each product and designated beneficiary country.6 billion, followed by Thailand (USD 4. President Donald Trump issued a presidential proclamation, leading to the removal of these products from the privilege beginning November 1. One can opt for lightweight velvet

While white resonates positivity and peace, black has been symbolic of death and negativity.Oscar de la RentaA black maxi dress is a good option but keep it floaty and not too tight.” She further adds that the shade is practical, never fades and goes with everything. For the really scorching days, try a simple, loose tank top and enjoy the breeze, or if the plain black look isn’t for you, try out a crew neck, printed T-shirt. And black is surely the most flattering colour. These can easily be layered up for summer night-outs and are versatile enough to go with pretty much any trousers or shorts. Don’t be afraid to flash a bit of shoulder or leg either to really ensure that your outfit is summer-ready. Go for bold lip colours like blood red to soften the look. The darkest shade, or let’s say the absence of shade, has a reputation of not being hot weather-appropriate, but the trick to wearing black in these hot and humid days are all in the fabrics you choose. Hades, the God of the underworld, sat on a black ebony throne, while for Romans, death was the hora nigra — the black hour.

”Throughout history, in many cultures and societal structures, black has stood as the polar opposite of white.”Lastly, design gurus share that a black leather jacket would look wildly out of place but a pair of black ankle trousers, shorts, or a s******t paired with a silky black tee looks classic, minimalist, and as chic as can be. Anything too heavy or clingy is going to make you look uncomfortable, so instead opt for cotton, linen or broderie anglaise, and wear them with your favourite chunky black heels. Yet we can’t live without it. Makeup also affects the way you carry a black ensemble.Gabbana, ValentinoRecommending different options to go with a black ensemble, designer Gautam Gupta shares, “Appropriate amount of coloured accessories to break up the black look like carrying a red, pink or white coloured handbag will China Jacquard Fabric suppliers add brightness to your overall appearances.

In fashion, black is not a negative but a neutral mediator.. Designer Kavita Bhartia says, “Like our favourite blue jeans, the little black dress is one of the most fundamental fashion emblems. A pair of black ankle trousers, shorts, or a s******t paired with a silky black tee looks classic, minimalist and chic as well. Also, make sure that your clothes aren’t too tight because you definitely want to be able to breathe. One can opt for lightweight velvet too.Hot and humid weather fashion usually leans toward florals, pinks, bright colours and soft shades, right? Creations from Dolce As much as we like playing with summery colours, prints and patterns during the hottest and humid months of the year — ‘Quick, let’s buy a tropical-inspired maxi dress to wear to the office’, or ‘Get a little white dress like Pippa Middleton’s or anti-fit top like Kim K’ for the weekend mall hopping — it’s nearly impossible to resist black pieces. And black denim works beautifully with lightweight tops and matching sandals.Designer Aditi Somani says, “Essentially, it is all about wearing the right fabrics — leather is pretty much a no-go (you don’t want to end up in a leather pants situation a la Ross Geller)

Fawad Khan Whenever there’s a flare-up in Indo-Pak relations

Only when different cultures meet can the result be good.— Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Grammy-award winning musicianArt and Culture Must Mingle I am against terrorist attacks but I am also against this move of sending Pakistani artistes back.Zee plans to stop ZindagiOn Saturday, chairman of Zee and Essel group, Subhash Chandra tweeted about how, hurt by Nawaz Sharif’s stance at the UN talks, Zee is considering stopping Pak’s TV channel Zindagi programmes. It is well-known that any series with India fetches bushels of bucks to the cricket boards involved via sale of television rights and by isolating the ‘enemy’ the BCCI has hit Pakistan where it hurts the most. That said, one also needs to understand that the families of the slain soldiers are the ones who are dealing with the loss, and terrorism is what we need to focus on. “It was a mutual understanding between the organisers and me. The top 10 exports by Pakistan to India in value terms are light oils, dates, Portland cement, petroleum oil, cotton, gypsum, aluminum, denim, rags and hides.

Our culture is not one of banning, we are one of the biggest democracies,” says Shantanu. But, Business as usualIndia and Pakistan have witnessed 2. “Go back within 48 hours or else.Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt says, “By all means, take a firm no-nonsense stance against the extremists, the ISI, the Mujahideen, the Lashkar-e-Taiba, and the Pakistan military which is perhaps covertly promoting such intrusions into our country. This is a diplomatic issue, which should be solved by the bureaucrats, artistes shouldn’t be dragged into it. The onus also lies with the people to understand that art, culture, sports, etc. Art and culture are always a soft target and that shouldn’t be happening..” threatened MNS.. Zindagi as we know, has been one of Pak’s most popular exports to India, making a place for itself amidst the very popular Indian television dramas. But why attack artistes ” He goes on, “Also, I think the diktat should come from the Government of India. The event was supposed to happen on September 26 but after the recent problems, I suggested we drop the idea.”Agrees music director Shantanu Moitra who collaborated with Zeb and Hania (Sufi rock band from Pakistan) for a Dewarists video. Have we asked Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India to go back Then why artistes ”Singer Kumar Sanu has called off his gig in Pakistan.

This is surely is salt in a sulking Pakistan’s wound — their players are already barred from the high-paying and immensely popular IPL. But I feel artistes should be allowed to go across the globe freely.17 billion goods to Pakistan, while importing 441 million from its estranged neighbour.” threatened MNS. — Lakshmi Nambiar, art gallery owner. If they tell us to cease working with Pakistani artistes, we will... Is the country going to be run by the rule of the law or by the whims and fancies of a handful of people Once a foreign national enters our land with proper legal and constitutional channels, it is our duty to protect him.61 billion official trade in FY2015-16, while business routed through a third country like the UAE is huge. They have some of the most memorable singers (Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Atif Aslam), their actors are good-looking with oodles of talent (Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan) and yes, let’s not forget their TV serials (Zindagi Gulzar Hain, Aunn Zara).Whenever there’s a flare-up in Indo-Pak relations, the ones targeted first are artistes.Art fosters harmonyArtists are in the limelight for their work and so it is very obvious that they will be targeted. When I think of a song, I conjure up a voice and that voice has nothing to do with caste, creed or colour. Fawad Khan Whenever there’s a flare-up in Indo-Pak relations, the ones targeted first are artistes. But when there is such turmoil in the country, it is always better that Pakistani artists lay low. I think these anti-Pakistan feelings are a passing phase since sentiments have been churned up post-Uri attacks. People who don’t get coverage are the ones who come up with such ideas., have nothing to do with terrorism. “Go back within 48 hours or else.Indo-Pak series bombedTensions across the border have spilled into high profile boardrooms now with the cash awash BCCI saying no to playing Pakistan in a bilateral series, a move that leaves Pak lot poorer morally and financially. Currently, with a 48-hour notice period by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) warning Pakistani artistes to leave India, China Wholesale Lycra Fabrics we’re back to the same point: artistes from across the border are being asked to leave. The top 10 Indian exports to Pakistan in value terms are cotton, polypropylene, chickpeas, woven fabrics, yarn, refined sugar, tomatoes, reactive dyes, polyester fabrics, visغير مجاز مي باشدe rayon fibre, and groundnut, etc. “When you are musicians, geography does not come into your head. When we used to initially host our annual show, we would only look at talent in Hyderabad and only when we opened the show to talent across the country, were we able to look at the wonderful talent pool. According to the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), India had exported 2. However, whenever an incident like the Uri attack occurs, the first people to be targeted and banned are Pakistani artistes. I just worked with a Balochistan artiste for Pink, Qurat-ul-Ain Balouch

We hope that this will help us connect people

Now the whole kalamkari community is against us," said Srinivas. "There is a lack of awareness on the issue. The duo has set up a small kalamkari museum showcasing the original tools used in the craft and their family&Recycled Fabrics Factory39;s history and contribution to kalamkari. But we are not harming the environment in the process," Srinivas said. "Indians don't seem to value their own art form. However, to keep up with growing demands and reduce production غير مجاز مي باشدts and time, many villagers have started using chemical dyes and the screen printing method to produce the famed textile style. The process of kalamkari involves several steps, one of which is to wash the fabric in the Krishna River to ensure that the colour lasts longer. P Veera Subbaiah, Srinivas' father was the first to introduce the art of kalamkari to Pedana. Today this art form is at the risk of extinction," said Manav Subodh, co-founder of 1 Million for 1 Billion (1M1B). "Original Kalamkari has been an ancient industry of India that has generated employment for many people.

A tiny town known for the exquisite Kalamkari style of textile printing - which earned it a GI tag - may be losing its sheen, thanks to a spurt in the use of modern and chemical methods that threaten the traditional art of block printing on fabric using organic and vegetable dyes. Natarajan spent months travelling from village to village, to understand the problems of local entrepreneurs and find sustainable solutions. Most of our market is outside India," Srinivas said. The organisation works towards solving grass-root level issues of rural areas by connecting them to relevant start-ups, creating new jobs for the locals and helping budding entrepreneurs gain access to larger markets.Driving through the town, it is not uncommon to see yards of kalamkari fabric laid out to dry in the scorching sun, with the ambient sounds of nature seemingly bringing alive the trees, birds and animals on the textile. In 2003, a US-based designer visited Srinivas and, impressed by the organic method he uses, started commissioning her own designs to the father and son. Her company Les Indiennes' markets organic kalamkari fabrics for home upholstery. However, the chemical dyes used by other producers have begun to pollute the river, and local farmers are beginning to feel the difference in the water. In 2013, Pedana town and its neighbouring villages of Machilipatnam, Polavaram and Kappaladoddi in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh won the geographical indication (GI) tag for the production of Machilipatnam Kalamkari, which involves carving out intricate designs on wooden blocks, and using these to print patterns on fabric."If this continues, soon the future generations will only see original kalamkari in museums," Srinivas said. "What the screen printing method can produce in 40 minutes, block printing or hand painting can take days," said Varun Kumar Pitchuka, who along with his father Pitchuka Srinivas is trying to continue with their family business of producing authentic kalamkari products.

The cheaper, inorganic kalamkari, which is half the price of organic fabrics, has taken over markets across India, making it difficult for the old-time producers to compete with the new. According to Varun, the water in the river has the correct mineral composition required to help the colours develop and set. "They (the farmers) think our products are spoiling the water. Representational Image. The name kalamkari is derived from the words qalam (pen) and kari (craftmanship), meaning drawing with a pen. "In one day, my workers are paid Rs 300 and can produce only two pieces - no matter how hard they work. The modern technique involves digitally creating designs and then making large stencils, which are used instead of blocks. After realising that Srinivas was among the few people whose practice was environmentally sustainable, Natarajan has been trying to help the father-son duo gain access to local markets. While the Srikalahasti style of kalamkari describes a freehand drawing with a pen, Machilipatnam Kalamkari uses wooden stamps # to create patterns on fabric..He said only 5-10 per cent of Kalamkari coming out from Pedana and Machilipatnam was original. Recently, Natarajan helped a startup that sources fabrics for various fashion brands in India connect with the organic kalamkari businessmen.

"We hope that this will help us connect people in India to original kalamkari products," Srinivas said. Most producers have long shifted to screen printing and chemical dyes to be able to stay in business. Most people don't understand why it is important to support the original art form," said Abhiram Natarajan, a 25-year-old B-tech graduate working with a Bangalore based not-for-profit organisation 1M1B (1 Million for 1 Billion). When we tried to take action to stop the use of chemical dyes, local politicians stepped in to safeguard the interests of the other producers.Chemical dyes used by other producers have begun to pollute the river

A lot of people aren’t aware of all the things

Know your fabricsFor longevity, experts suggest fabrics that last like polyester, while others favour natural fabrics like cotton. With fashion industry being ousted for being a major polluter, extending the lifespan of our clothes is more important than ever before.Store them properly“Get all your clothing in one space – I call it the power of the pile.”

Also, check if there is enough seam space in case you want to increase the length of the garment. If you have two identical T-shirts in cotton or polyester, the cotton will wear out quicker,” said Charles Ross, sustainability expert. Store expensive items in cotton suit bags to prevent moth damage. Steaming, spot cleaning, and spraying them with certain liquids are alternatives to machine washing certain fabrics. Spray clothes with a mixture of three parts water and two parts vodka and hang them to dry. If it starts to unravel – don’t buy it. Well-made clothes of good fabric can also have weak seams and it’s important to keep an eye on them from time to time.In the time of fast fashion, affordable clothing and changing trends, recycling and re-wearing old clothes is considered un-trendy. “I prefer wearing synthetics because I believe they are more durable fibres.2 years in the UK.
